Council Gives Go Ahead to Free Camping on Sunshine Coast
We have just heard that local councillors on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland have given the go ahead for an interim policy to allow camping in areas with limited facilities. Basic overnight camping and caravanning areas will be set up to service a specific market aimed at the budget traveller.
The overnight camping sites would serve a different market to those travellers normally catered for within traditional caravan parks in the area. Thus encouraging an additional tourist market to the area. The Sunshine Coast City Council said that the new arrangement would generate extra income for businesses in the local area.
Facilities to be provided will include: toilets or dump point, rubbish bins and access to water.
I'm sure this will come as great news to everyone looking for a free camp on the Sunshine Coast.
